AVE protagonist at the ADI Design Museum

Recently inaugurated in Milan, the museum dedicated to the world’s oldest and most institutional recognition in the world of design will host the Compasso d’Oro winning AVE products in the permanent collection.

Founded in 1904 as the first electrical equipment company in Italy, AVE has always entertained a special relationship with innovation: for AVE, in fact, “innovating” means creating solutions that favor progress and make it accessible, tangible, concrete. Hence the vocation to do switches, in creating a contact with energy that is at the same time functional and refined in aesthetics, so that a simple daily ritual can be transformed into a moment of encounter with technology and style.

Over the years, the collaboration with the most renowned international designers and the continuous search for innovation has led AVE to win countless awards; among these the Compasso D’Oro award for the first 45 mm modular switch in the Habitat Series, designed by the famous designer Andries Van Onck. A collection that, at the turn of the seventies and eighties of the last century, literally transformed the way of turning on the light. A real piece of design history through which the brand AVE is today the protagonist at the ADI Design Museum, the new museum inaugurated in Milan entirely dedicated to the oldest and most institutional award for industrial design in the world: the Compasso d’Oro.

Within this innovative container, which presents itself as a new point of reference for the design community with the ambition of telling the public, Compasso d’Oro collection finds its own permanent exhibition, including AVE products awarded with the coveted recognition that, born from an idea of Gio Ponti, since 1954 aims to highlight the quality of the products made in Italy and, in particular, to recognize the value process that the design impresses the world of production and society across the board.

The ADI Design Museum is a very important showcase for AVE, which has always been intimately linked to that fabric of uniqueness – including inspiration, creativity, tradition and innovation – that define made in Italy. A further added value for an Italian company still family-run which, after more than a century and five generations of human relationships, continues to create solutions capable of anticipating trends and meeting the needs of a constantly evolving sector. To date, in fact, AVE production covers almost all of the items dedicated to electrical systems and home automation, allowing the creation of cutting-edge hotels and advanced smart homes, with touch controls and interactive displays, which can be controlled from an app and open to the boundless universe of the IoT.

Being included in the ADI Design Museum is therefore another great important result and a source of pride for a historic brand of Italian design applied to the electricity sector which, over the years, has been chosen with satisfaction for millions of installations in Italy and abroad, to become today a brand recognized all over the world as symbol of quality and prestige Made in Italy.
